Earth |
It's the tilting of Earth on its axis which causes different seasons. The Earth's axis is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees. While making its yearly journey around the Sun, the Earth is always pointing to one side. So, when the Earth's axis points towards the Sun, it receives more direct sunlight causing summer in that hemisphere while the other axis pointing away receives Sun's rays at lesser intensity causing winter.
