How are the ocean currents formed?


Ocean currents are mainly generated by the winds moving across the surface of the ocean water to move in a definite direction. Another prominent reason for the generation  of ocean currents is density differences in ocean water due to salinity and temperature variations. The underwater earthquakes also have a devastating effect on ocean currents and may even cause tsunamis.
